Questions an evaluation can help answer

An evaluation is most useful when there’s a specific question to answer. Often a physician, therapist, school, or other professional has suggested testing — or something about how you think, learn, or cope has never quite been explained.

  1. Why has school, work, or concentration felt harder than it should?

  2. Which diagnosis best explains what I’ve been experiencing?

  3. What’s behind changes in memory, attention, or thinking?

  4. What kind of treatment is most likely to help from here?

What an evaluation involves

Structured psychological testing

Evaluations use established testing methods, chosen for the question being asked — not a one-size-fits-all battery. They are designed to see patterns that ordinary appointments can’t always capture.

Neuropsychological screening

Alongside psychological testing, we provide neuropsychological screening — the assessments used when questions involve memory, attention, or other aspects of how thinking itself is working.

How an evaluation works

Every evaluation is built around the question it’s answering, so the details differ — but two things don’t:

A process built for your question

Your evaluator will explain what your specific evaluation will involve before it begins — what will happen and why.

Findings you can use

When testing is complete, the results are explained — what was found, what it means, and what it suggests about next steps.

Insurance, forms, and how to begin are covered on New Patients.

New Patients
